Anyone know what this is about?

Its on the front page if this, seems to be a joint thing with the Gardai? Never heard of it before.

I remember a few years ago a Coastwatch was set up where people could report suspicious activity to the Gardai. Afaik there was no special phone line set up but merely to make people aware of who to contact and to keep an eye out. It was done in order to catch drug shipments coming through isolated beaches.

The Boyne river rescue group are a great bunch of lads. We have had to call them on occasion. Very professional

Theres also customs drug watch. Liase with fishermen, sailing clubs and the likes to keep an eye out for suspicious activity on the coast, think they also contact flying clubs to notify them of suspicious aircraft landing at airfeilds

Years ago, but I used to notice that in Malahide a patrol would drive the coast road every morning at about 0730.
